SEVILLA BEATS MANCHESTER UNITED TO 2:1

Tonight Manchester United played against Sevilla which ended at 2:1 against Manchester United. Manchester United’s season concluded tonight as Sevilla eliminated them from the Europa League in the semi-final stage.

United hasn’t won the league since 2017, and must now wait until 2021 for their next silverware chance after giving up the lead in Cologne to lose.

The side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started brightly and took the lead through a Bruno Fernandes penalty in the first half after Marcus Rashford was felled in the box. Before half-time, former Liverpool player Suso equalized and Luuk de Jong scored the Spanish side’s winning goal after United spurned multiple good chances at the beginning of the second half.

This is the first time since the 1980s that United has gone three seasons in a row without a trophy, and Solskjaer and his players also will enjoy a brief break before the upcoming September Premier League campaign starts.

Also in other news, Manchester United supporters think that Sergio Romero was unfairly treated after David de Gea was brought back for the Europa League semi-final against Seville in the starting Line up tonight.

Romero was the goalkeeper for the United cup this season, starting both the round-of-16 victories over LASK and the quarter-final win over FC Copenhagen.

The Spaniard has been restored to the starting line-up for the game against Sevilla despite De Gea’s patchy form over recent months. During the FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea, De Gea ‘s mistakes were costly with many fans having felt Romero should be the first-choice until Dean Henderson returns to the club.
